When Your Clones Arrive: What to Check and Why Acclimation Matters

Receiving living clones is an exciting moment. A journey by courier and a move into a new environment are also changes for a living plant, so give each arrival a careful look and time to settle in.

Check your clones on arrival

Open the package promptly in a clean space away from harsh direct light. Check each clone and its packaging before moving it into your growing space:

  • Root plug: Note whether it feels lightly moist, unusually dry, or waterlogged.
  • Stems and growth tips: Look for firmness and any visible breakage.
  • Leaves: Look for damage or unusual discolouration. A plant may look different after transit, but don't assume a concerning change will resolve on its own.

Taking a few clear photos when you unpack can help you record the arrival condition if you need advice later.

Why a gentle transition matters

Your space may differ from the conditions a clone experienced before delivery. Light, airflow, moisture, and temperature can all affect how it adjusts. Avoid abrupt extremes, observe the plant as it settles, and tailor care to its condition and your setup rather than following a fixed schedule. A clone preserves its mother plant's genetics, but a healthy start and good ongoing care still matter.

When to contact CloneBuzzz Genetics

If a clone arrives with visible physical damage, a very dry root plug, or a compromised stem, take clear photos of the plant and its packaging and contact us as soon as possible. That gives us the details we need to assess what happened in transit and advise on the next step.

At CloneBuzzz Genetics, supplying living clones is part of our work to preserve and safeguard valued genetics. If you are unsure about an arrival, reach out rather than guessing.
