The first 48 hours after your clone arrives set the tone for its entire life cycle. Get this window right, and a boutique cut settles in fast. Get it wrong, and you're fighting recoverable stress for weeks.
Biological Inoculation at Rooting
Pairing mycorrhizal fungi, such as Glomus intraradices, with beneficial bacteria like Azospirillum brasilense directly onto the root ball during transplant speeds up root mass development and buffers the plant against shock.
Substrate and Moisture Matching
Whether your cut arrives rooted in rockwool, peat plugs, or coco, take care when transitioning it into its final medium, whether that's living soil, coco coir, or hydro. Fragile micro-roots suffocate easily, so match moisture levels between the starter medium and the new one rather than making an abrupt switch.
Light Distance and PPFD Ramping
Resist the urge to place a tender cutting straight under full-blast high-intensity LEDs. Ramp light levels gradually, starting around 150 to 200 μmol/m²/s (PPFD) for days one through three, then increase from there as the plant shows healthy new growth.
Patience in these first two days pays off across the entire life of the plant.
